Whether this is your first teen, or your third, there are some things that are almost universal across the board. Teens love staying up late with their friends, binging on snacks and watching movies until the wee hours of the morning. If you’re hosting a teen sleep over and you want to make sure it’s memorable, be sure to keep in mind these 4 tips for hosting a cool teen sleep over:
1. Have Lots of Snacks
Teens love eating! Their bodies are changing and growing dramatically during this age, so ensuring you have plenty of snacks to keep them happy is the first thing on your list of things to get for the sleepover. Be sure to throw in some healthier snacks too, like carrot sticks and ranch dip. As a general rule I think you can never have too much food, and having some backups can be a great idea too. When we do sleepovers at our house, we usually buy a bunch of pizza bases and toppings and have the kids make their own pizzas. Not only is it healthier than takeaways, it also keeps them entertained for a while and that way everyone can make something they want to eat.
2. Matching Sunglasses
This is absolutely essential if you’re lucky enough to have a pool on your property, but buying the teens matching sunglasses can add a really fun element to the sleepover or it can serve as a fun little present to take home in a goodie bag. If you’d like to gift the kids sunglasses, I suggest looking into bulk sunglasses to ensure that you’re getting a great price for a bulk order, without compromising on style or quality. If you’ll be spending a lot of time in the sun such as at the beach, in the pool, or even just outside this can be a great gift to ensure the teens are taking care of their eyes’ health.
3. Think About the Activities
As I mentioned above, pizza making is a fun activity, but think about others you can do too. If you’re hosting a teen girl sleepover, you can order some Sparty Girl packs, and they can have fun giving each other manicures and pedicures. For the boys, you can make sure that you have some gaming consoles, or maybe even some actual games they can play outside, such as basketball, volleyball or even football. If the weather is cooler, then board games might be a better option and the fun part is you can even join in too. I like the classics such as Monopoly, Game of Life and Twister, but you can always ask your teen as to what’s most popular now. If it’s a smaller group, Ticket to Ride is a lot of fun.
4. Matching Outfits
It can be really fun, just like with the sunglasses, to get all the kids matching outfits. Whether it’s just a nice tshirt from this great game clothing store, or maybe it’s a full matching PJ set. Having clothes that match make the entire experience a lot more fun and would be the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion. Talk to your teen to gauge their interest on this, because they might be totally into it or not interested, so it’s best to see what they think before committing financially.
Hosting a teen sleep over can be a ton of fun and it’s a great way to know what your teen is up to and that they’re safe. Hopefully these 4 tips for hosting a cool teen sleepover help you plan the best party ever!
