Whether you’re just taking it upon yourself to self isolate more at home, or your country/region is in full lock down mode, most of us are becoming experts at passing the time at home. If you’re bored of your usual ways to keep yourself entertained, keep reading to learn my top 4 creative ways to entertain yourself at home.
1. Get Into Gaming
If you’ve always felt bad about how much time you’ve spent gaming in the past, well now is the perfect time to indulge without feeling bad as there’s not much else to do in the middle of a pandemic. There are so many games to choose from, whether you prefer to play on consoles or from your PC. One of my favourite games is Counter Strike, and you can check out some awesome Counter Strike commentary from The West Ham players over here.
2. Learn a New Language
While all but essential travel is on hold for most parts of the world, we’re still allowed to dream of all of our bucket list destinations. Whether you’ve always wanted to stroll the streets of Paris, or hoped to explore some ruins in Myanmar, one day things will return to normal and what better way to prepare for your trip than by learning a new language. There are so many free resources available to you to learn online, meaning you don’t have to spend a cent and can come out of this “lock down” with a new skillset. Head to Youtube to watch shows in your target language, and download Duolingo to practice on your smartphone.
3. Start a Blog
I’m a blogger, so you can’t be too surprised that I might suggest blogging to be a really fun way to pass the time. You can blog about anything, from your love of gaming, travel, even more niche topics like DIY home repair tips. If you’re interested in something, then there’s a pretty good chance there are other people out there that would love to read about it too. Blogging can be just a fun hobby, or with a decent amount of effort and dedication it can even become a side hustle, allowing you to earn a bit of cash on the side.
4. Learn to Cook
If you’re somewhere where cafes and restaurants are still closed, then chances are you’ve been craving your favourite meals. Why not learn how to perfect your favourite brunch options. When this is all said and done you can invite friends over for a fancy eggs Benedict brunch. No one ever regretted learning how to cook properly and this extra time at home is the perfect time to hone in your culinary skills!
