It can be difficult to know just where to go for your next vacation when you have kids, particularly when you’re looking for a destination that both you and your kids will enjoy. Luckily, I’ve got some of my top vacation destinations to give you a few ideas:
Orlando, Florida
Really want to get your kids excited? Why not plan a dream holiday to Disneyland Florida? This is an especially great destination if you still have young kids who still believe in magic and can’t wait to meet Mickey Mouse. It’s also a great destination if you have slightly older kids who want to scream their lungs out at Universal Studios after their younger siblings have had enough of Disneyland.
Rovaniemi, Finland
Like the idea of dashing past pine branches loaded down with snow and over endless white hills? If you’ve been looking for a winter vacation destination, Rovaniemi is just a few miles from the Arctic Circle. Whether your family prefers a husky-drawn sled or a snowmobile, Rovaniemi is fun for all ages.
This is a city that embraces winter and is home to Santa Claus. You can find the jolly bearded man tending to his reindeer or sorting through mail at the Santa Claus Main Post Office, which is operated by the national postal service in Finland.
Kids will spend plenty of time hanging out with Santa’s helpers, doing everything from toy making to gingerbread baking.
Paphos, Cyprus
Located off the coast of Turkey, there’s a huge range of things to keep the whole family entertained in Cyprus. This is where Aphrodite was supposedly born, and today you’ll enjoy delicious dessert wines, cheeses, and Halloumi. Older kids will love the history lessons here, and you can start at the Tomb of Kings located just outside of town or the Paphos Archaeological Park.
Toronto, Canada
Moving a little closer to home, Toronto is sure to impress family members of all ages. Be sure to visit the LookOut level in the CN Tower, where you can enjoy the view from 1,135 feet. From there, head to the Royal Ontario Museum and the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. Once you’ve fed your mind, it’s time to enjoy the food. Toronto has some of the most culturally diverse food in the world, making it a must-visit for foodies. Once the kids have finished their poutine, be sure to have a good laugh at the Bad Dog Theatre Company.
