America is one of the most amazing countries in the world to visit. What with being home to all the top tourist attraction from the sun-drenched coast of California, stunning cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco whilst the East Coast has Long Island and cosmopolitan New York, there so many incredible places to visit that choosing where to go is the hard part.
Here are some of the more off the beaten track places you must see in the USA:
Rocky Mountain National Park – Denver

Head 70 miles out of the city to Rocky Mountain National Park where you’ll find incredibly beautiful mountains and plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities.
Hamilton Park- Texas
Head just outside of Austin to find one of the most stunning natural pools in the world. The natural reserve area features 232km of natural habitat and is a favourite spot for Austin locals to hang out on a weekend with a picnic. As the site is a nature reserve, cycling, fishing and pets are prohibited but hiking and swimming is encouraged. For people keen to see as much wildlife as possible, guided nature tours are available too.
Yellowstone National Park
The first ever national park in America, Yellowstone National Park is packed with wildlife, architecture, and wilderness. It’s one of the most diverse national parks in America, offering so much to do no matter what your interests are. From boating to cycling and camping, there’s an abundance of activities plus guided tours with Trek America and opportunities to wildlife watch.
Oneonta Gorge- Oregon
The Oneonta Gorge is nestled in the Columbia River Gorge, and one of the most wonderful natural sights in the world. Getting to the gorge can be quite dangerous, with there being no designated path but following the river is worth it to admire the awe inspiring emerald green moss view.
Elk Mountains – Colorado
An amazing unusual place to visit in America is the Elk Mountains of Colorado where you’ll find crystal clear streams and alpine lakes. A hiker’s dream, there’s an abundance of amazing ridges to climb although some peaks can be dangerous so it’s advised that you do your research before getting started.
With America being so vast and each different state being so diverse, there are so many different places to visit. These national parks and natural wonders are amazing places to stay and much less visited than other major tourist’s attractions so you’ll be able to experience some authentic America whilst on your trip.
