Browser technology expanded distribution
The smartphone was only part of the change. Improvements in mobile browsers also played an important role.

Those figures measure search interest rather than actual wagering activity, but they still illustrate how widely recognizable a mobile-friendly crash game can become.
Ultimately, mobile technology gave crash games the conditions they needed to reach beyond traditional desktop audiences. By combining easy smartphone access with reliable mobile internet and browser-based play, the format became available to more users in more places. Their growth reflects a shift toward entertainment designed around the mobile screen.
